Cleaning my makeup brushes .....
Hey!
So if you didn't no before , its very important to wash your make-up brushes due to hygiene purposes and to get the best results from your make-up brushes when applying make-up to your face.

First of all you needed to select a shampoo & conditioner of your own choice. It doesn't matter what type or brand you choose as they all do the job were looking for and that's to clean & condition our make-up brushes!
In the photo below it shows that the shampoo & conditioner I choose to use was Schwarzkopf Gliss Total Repair. They are lovely hair products and have given my make-up brushes such a luscious smell. We all no our make-up brushes can get a bit smelly bit time to time for the over use & a build up of make-up within the bristles so using a shampoo that smells nice to wash them with is a nice touch!

The photo above also shows all my make-up brushes that i use.... these are a combination of Crown brushes(Red) ,Charles fox (Black Powder Brush) Kyrolan (Silver) , Real Technique (Orangey Gold & Purple brush) , Body shop (kabuki) , Bare minerals (Black Concealer brush) ,Royal & Langnickel( Pink set). I love all these brushes and highly recommend them. You can buy all these brushes online so I will post their websites at the end of this post so can you use them if you wish.
Also in the photo is a metal basket which i use to place my brushes in after so they can dry. I placed paper in the bottom so my brushes wouldn't fall out..... i love this basket its so practical for what i need it for ... its actually suppose to be for the bathroom to hold things such a skin care products but it's very handy to hold my brushes while there drying.
Cleaning your brushes!
Everyone has there own individual way of cleaning their own brushes, I'm just giving an example of how I like to do mine =D .....
- I wash each brush individually .... I start off by wetting the brush with warm water
- Then i apply some shampoo to brush .... the amount of product would vary depending on the size of the brush you cleaning.
- I wet one of my hands with warm water and gently swirl the brush into the palm of my hand in circle movements which creates a soapy effect.
- Then I squeeze any excess water in the brush and keep doing this routine until the water runs clear and you can see that all the make-up has been cleaned out of the brush.
- I usually shampoo small brushes such as eye shadow brushes just once , but certain small brushes like a concealer brush i would wash this at least twice as it would compact a lot of more product in its bristles and needs a good rinse.
- Bigger brushes such as a foundation , powder or blusher brush would needed to be rinsed with shampoo up to 2-4 times all depending on how dirty the brush is. Using the same routine each time by the swirling action in palm and then squeezing excess water off.
- After Shampooing I apply a small amount of conditioner and run it through the bristles of the brush using my fingers and rinse out afterwards.
- Some people may prefer to leave there conditioner in there brushes but i prefer not to as i don't see there is any need because when they dry they turn out to be lovely soft & silky.
- I then individually dry each brush with a clean hand towel and reshape the brushes bristles on each one so they don't loose their shape.
- I place all the brushes into the metal basket shown above in a previous photo i posted and leave them to dry naturally.
- I usually wash my make-up brushes on a day off when I'm not going anywhere so i don't need to use them so i can leave them the whole day & overnight to leave them to dry.

In this Photo it shows how i leave my brushes to dry but if you didn't own a basket like this you could just leave them lying down flat on a towel.
